Black Walnut Catalog is an internal database that provides visibility, between departments and campus leadership, of what software licenses are being utilized. Staff members can search the database to see what tools other departments are using in an effort to make purchasing viable software easier. Leadership teams can also see all of the contract details and get a high level overview of spending through our admin dashboard. This helps campuses reduce redundancies (e.g. multiple project management licenses), see where they’re overspending, and where they may be underspending. The platform also includes a rating system to show which tools your staff find most or least effective.
